With the introduction of EU Directive 2020/2184, which comes into force on 1 January 2027, the lead content in materials intended for contact with drinking water will have to be reduced to less than 0.1 per cent. This regulatory change leads to new challenges for the brass machining industry, as the absence of lead reduces the workability of the material, making manufacturing processes more difficult.
Buffoli is responding to these challenges with innovative solutions, designed to guarantee maximum precision and conformity to purpose. In fact, Buffoli machines, thanks to state-of-the-art technology and optimised software, are perfectly equipped to deal with the difficulties arising from the new lead-free alloys. Thanks to advanced lubrication and cooling systems, and high pressure capabilities, Buffoli machines ensure precise, fast and sustainable machining, guaranteeing the future of the industry in compliance with European regulations.
